ancillaries: these are secondary products, some of which are sold separately from the textbook—they are not included in the initial cost of the textbook when an ancillary is bundled with the textbook, the cost of the textbook increases, so each ancillary use is priced separately, whether bundled or sold separately (examples of ancillaries are: CD’s, flash cards, test booklets, posters, leveled readers, lab manuals and course packs) if ancillaries are bundled with the textbook such as CD’s, workbooks, lab manuals and even website subscriptions can be included in the total unit count and priced at the textbook rate for example: 200k textbooks, 100k CD’s, 100k workbooks, and 50k website subscriptions would total 450k units ancillary items not bundled with the textbook are “non-program specific” materials— these are billed separately while still using the textbook rate.
