Ralph Vaughan Williams

Ralph Vaughan Williams (October 12, 1872 – August 26, 1958) was an English composer of symphonies, chamber music, opera, choral music, and film scores.

Williams was also a collector of English folk music and song; this collecting activity influenced both his editorial approach to the English Hymnal, in which he included many folk song arrangements as hymn tunes, and several of his own original compositions.
